Does anyone know if you work for a franchised Marriott or Hilton if you can transfer to a corporate owned franchise and if the HIlton benefit package offers discounts to friends and family. I'm asking because I have a offer from a franchised Marriott Nd an interview with a franchised Hilton next week.

They said I would've had to go through the entire hiring process and I would lose all my vacation and senority that I had built up. I ended up getting a job at a Marriott when I moved.

My question in the meantime is does anyone know when you can start using the employee hotel discount. Is it a waiting period? Also is their a Fosse quick reference guide that they might give me to study.
Thanks
I'm so glad I found this thread. I hope your orientation went well and you are loving your job.
I currently work for a franchised Hampton and am looking to transfer from Maine to Orlando, FL. Unfortunately I won't be able to transfer directly because we are franchised by a private management company. Of course my skills will transfer specifically within other Hiltons that use the same reservation program, but any health benifits or paid time off I've accrued I will lose because of the timing of the move.
Since there are so many hotels and brands in the Orlando area I thought I might branch my search out to Marriott and was wondering as well how they compared.
I know for my Hamtpon I could get employee rate on stays as soon as I started working. As long as you are in the system you can search for employee stay rates.
Boston803 Please tell us how your experience has been with Marriott. Thanks.

I currently work for a corporate Marriott and it can be hard switching from a franchised to corporate Marriott location however it is possible and employers are more likely to hire someone from a franchised location than someone who is not! I have meThere is a FOSSE reference guide online through mylearning on mgs.marriott you should be able to access if not a manager at your property should have a copy of that guide. You can start using your room benefits after hire usually the next day after filing paperwork. Access to full benefits (medical and so on) is given after the 90 day training period. bust most general benefits (like PTO) can get added on after 60 or 90 day period depending on the property. (this can change if your at franchised location)
